Stencils for blackwork and bold designs

Blackwork designs are built on strong shapes and lines that cannot drift. HectoInk Bold mode thickens the line work so the stencil transfers cleanly and stays readable while you pack black over it. Set the exact width, preview the lines, and print at true size on thermal stencil paper.

Straight answers

Why use Bold mode for blackwork?

Thin stencil lines disappear fast once you start packing black. Bold mode adds weight to every line, so your boundaries stay visible longer into the session and your edges stay where the design put them.

Does it work for dotwork and geometric pieces?

Yes. Geometric and ornamental designs convert well because they are built from clear shapes. Use Linework mode for fine dotwork guides and Bold mode when the piece is mostly solid shapes and heavy outlines.

Can I make a large blackwork piece, like a back or chest design?

Yes. Set the full width in inches and the print PDF tiles the design across Letter or A4 sheets with overlap, registration marks, and page numbers, so you can assemble one large stencil accurately.
